The candidate will work in a research laboratory setting and will be responsible for designing and carrying out experiments involving DNA translocation through solid-state nanopores. The successful applicant will interact extensively with nanopore researchers and computer scientists at Brown University and with the biochemistry group at NABsys Inc. Additionally, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to publish and will be expected to aid in the preparation of manuscripts.

The candidate must be self-motivated and be capable of substantially independent research or scholarship under the supervision of a senior scientist. Applicants will be expected to work in a multi-disciplinary team. Other responsibilities include, maintaining an accurate laboratory notebook, written and oral presentation of data at project meetings, and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment.
