Semiconductor Process Development Engineer
NABsys Inc., a Rhode Island-based biotechnology company developing a next-generation DNA sequencing technology is looking to hire a PhD -level semiconductor process engineer. The successful applicant will be responsible for nanofabrication process development, metrology and production of prototype devices.
The position is full time and located primarily in Ithaca, NY where work will be completed at the Cornell Nanoscale Facility (CNF), the flagship site of the National Nanotechnology Infrastructure Network.
Position Description: Improve various fabrication processes for manufacturability and yield improvement, Conduct data analysis, design of experiments and process optimization for continuous design and process improvement, Review process/product yield, propose and implement yield improvement measures, Design, develop and qualify wafer fabrication processes, Develop and integrate processes for new product introductions, Document processes and train production personnel when needed.
Qualification: The successful candidate will have a MS or PhD degree in material science, electrical engineering, physics or equivalent, and 3+ years of experience in semiconductor process development, Strong problem solving, teamwork and communication skills are essential for success in this position, Knowledge of nanofabrication, electron beam lithography, reactive ion etching and metal deposition are a critical asset, Fast learner and capable of efficient technology integration, Excellent communication and presentation skills, Hands-on experience in implementing and facilitating lean manufacturing and process improvement initiatives, Previous experience and training at the CNF is highly desirable.

Nanopore Scientist
NABsys Inc., a Rhode Island-based biotechnology company developing a next-generation DNA sequencing technology is looking to hire a Ph.D.-level scientist with experience in nanopores. The successful applicant will be responsible for designing and conducting experiments involving DNA translocation through solid-state nanopores. The applicant will interact extensively with biochemists at the company and with nanopore researchers at Brown University. Additionally, this individual will have the opportunity to publish.
Compensation includes a competitive salary, equity participation, and a benefits package.

Post-doctoral Scientist in Nanopore Biophysics
NABsys Inc., a Rhode Island-based biotechnology company developing a next-generation DNA sequencing technology, is looking to fill a post-doctoral position in the physics division. The candidate will work in a research laboratory setting and will be responsible for designing and carrying out experiments involving DNA translocation through solid-state nanopores. The successful applicant will interact extensively with nanopore researchers and computer scientists at Brown University and with the biochemistry group at NABsys Inc. Additionally, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to publish and will be expected to aid in the preparation of manuscripts.
The candidate must be self-motivated and be capable of substantially independent research or scholarship under the supervision of a senior scientist. Applicants will be expected to work in a multi-disciplinary team. Other responsibilities include, maintaining an accurate laboratory notebook, written and oral presentation of data at project meetings, and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment.
