Segment Marketing Manager

Reporting to Vice President of Sales and Marketing, the Segment Marketing Manager will be the voice of the customer and the champion of market-specific strategy. You’ll own the development and execution of segment-level messaging, content, and campaigns to position Electronic Genome Mapping (EGM) as the go-to platform for genomic structural variation analysis across these distinct applications. The ideal candidate will have prior experience as a downstream marketer in genomics or related technologies, along with a strong desire to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment as part of a multi-disciplinary team. This is a phenomenal growth opportunity as we launch a next-generation platform set to revolutionize genomic analysis.
Market Strategy & Positioning
- Develop deep understanding of trends, challenges, and unmet needs in cytogenetics, molecular genetics, and Cell & Gene Therapy (CGT)
- Craft segment-specific value propositions, messaging, and proof points to differentiate EGM
- Develop Market Models and business cases for market segments
Campaign Development
- Plan and develop content for targeted campaigns (email, digital, social, webinars) to drive lead generation and brand awareness within each segment
- Partner with Marketing, Sales, and Applications teams to develop and deliver high-impact, multi-touch programs
Content & Enablement
- Create and localize segment-specific marketing assets: presentations, whitepapers, case studies, FAQs, and web content
- Develop and deliver Sales training and tools tailored to customer personas in each segment
Customer & Market Engagement
- Collaborate with KOLs and early-access customers to develop case studies and thought leadership
- Attend conferences, customer meetings, and advisory boards to represent the marketing voice of Nabsys within segment
Analytics & Reporting
- Work with Marketing to track performance of campaigns, content, and lead conversion in each segment
- Use insights to optimize strategy and increase ROI
- Full time position preferably located San Diego, CA (Remote/Hybrid possible) with up to 25% travel
Requirements:
- 5+ years in segment, product, or field marketing in genomics
- Strong market and technical knowledge of one or more of the following: cytogenetics or molecular genetics
- Experience marketing to scientists in basic, translational and clinical research
- Experience marketing instruments and associated software and consumables
- Experience developing and delivering Sales trainings and assets
- Exceptional storyteller with a knack for turning science into compelling narratives
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects and drive results
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences; advanced degree (MS/PhD) or MBA is a plus
- Comfort working in a dynamic, startup-style environment
Preferred but not required:
- Experience marketing novel genomic platforms (e.g., NGS, single-cell, long-read)
- Familiarity with structural variation analysis and bioinformatics
- Experience with long-read sequencing
- High proficiency with PowerPoint and Excel
