Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for the handling of all incoming and outgoing materials, including temperature sensitive and hazardous goods, while adhering to strict safety and regulatory protocols. The key responsibilities of the role include receiving shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders, proper storage, preparing outgoing packages, maintaining accurate inventory records, and coordinating with logistics partners.

  • Unload, inspect, and receive incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders and packing slips, including checking for proper temperature control and documentation for sensitive materials
  • Prepare and package outgoing orders according to company and regulatory standards, label them correctly, and arrange for carrier pickup
  • Maintain accurate inventory records by performing cycle counts and audits, using inventory management or ERP systems
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, sorting and stocking materials in designated storage areas and ensuring efficient access
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate and compliant with regulations like FDA, cGMP, and OSHA
  • Communicate with other departments, suppliers, and couriers to resolve discrepancies and coordinate shipments
  • Supervise chemical loading processes and sign off on hazardous materials manifests
  • Oversee the daily logistics of receiving, shipping, kitting operations and material movements to ensure inventory accuracy and integrity
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent is required; or bachelor’s degree in a related field like logistics, supply chain, or life sciences is preferred
  • One or more years of experience in shipping/receiving or warehouse roles, preferably in a biotech or life sciences environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to learn and use computer systems, including inventory management and shipping software
  • Familiarity with handling special materials, such as temperature-sensitive or hazardous good
  • The ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds
  • IATA certification is preferred
